FRESH START

I owe everyone an apology for failing to post "Minah's Monday Munchies" on Monday. I'm still learning my way around all of the features on the blog site, but now I feel that I'm much more familiar with them. I have decided to switch up the segments, so below you will find a name and description of each scheduled segment that I will post on this blog. Each post will go up at 6:30pm CT(Central Time). This schedule will begin Monday, but my blog posts will not be limited to the segments you see below. I will also post on random occasions about things such as celebrity news and NBA Free Agency(cue the new Cleveland fans) among other things. And for the students out there, I will be posting a Back To School series in the coming weeks for grades 5-12 on how to conquer the grade you're entering, how to manage your time(did somebody say college applications?), and other aspects of going back to school. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I look forward to seeing everyone here on Monday :-)

Monday: Monday will be reserved for a segment called "Mani Monday". As the name hints, this segment will be about all things nails. I'll have lots of tutorials for different nail designs, and I'll also have different tips to ensure that your manicure comes out perfectly every time.

Tuesday: Tuesday will be reserved for a segment called "Tuesday Tasties". This segment will include different recipes that I enjoy or that I was eager to try, along with reviews of different eateries around Nashville. I'm open to suggestions for different recipes and eateries to try so feel free to leave comments with your favorite recipes and places. I may find my new go-to spot.

Thursday: Thursday will be a segment called DIY Thursday. I will post different DIY projects, which I LOVE, and give tips on how to cheaply decorate your room/house without it looking cheap. Like I said, I LOVE DIY projects so I ENCOURAGE everyone to send me different projects to try. And don't worry, I'll cover a wide variety of age groups, so anyone will small children around or someone trying to come up with cheap fun for a kids party can come here too in order to find some great projects for a great price.

Saturday: Saturday will be a segment called Penny Pinchers. I will post shopping tips, and ways to save money in your daily life. It will be different from DIY Thursday in that it likely won't include many projects, but swaps that you can make to live cheaper without appearing to be cheap ;-)

So those are all of the scheduled segments, and again, these aren't the ONLY times I'll be posting throughout the week, but these are the DEFINITE times I'll be posting. I hope everyone(or almost everyone) is pleased with this arrangement and I look forward to seeing everyone here on Mani Monday :-)

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I'm super excited for today because the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It's basically "Aminah and her dad's holiday" around here, and for valid reasons. We go to the Hot Chicken Festival together and crack up at each other's faces as we torture ourselves with what is delicious Nashville culture. We buy fireworks and become the envy of the entire street with our amazing amateur fireworks show. We make fun of other people(our favorite pastime together). It's a ton of fun and I just enjoy having our street filled with lots of people having a good time with each other. While it's not exactly fun not knowing the difference between gunshots and fireworks on today and the next few days, it's nice to see potential aspects to add to our show for the next year. Also, the little kids aren't left out today, as we buy plenty of sparklers for those of us who aren't quite ready for the larger displays. The 4th of July is like Christmas in that it brings everyone together, but it's almost even better because it's not just families that bond, but neighbors and friends also. And you can go outside without getting frostbite on your nose. Win-win situation if you ask me. So today I want everyone to go be with their friends and family and just have a great time and enjoy being off from work or out of school. And leave me a comment and let me know some of your 4th of July traditions. See you all on Monday for "Minah's Monday Munchies". :-)
