Hey everybody! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! I hope all of you have made some great resolutions for the new year and I hope that you stick to them and become a better you for this wonderful year to come. Because it's the first of the month, it's time for me to do my monthly favorites for the month of December. I won't always have the same types of items on this list, but this is a way for me to share some of my favorite items I used this past month and who knows, you may find a new favorite of your own from this list ;-)
Favorite Nail Polish: India by Julep
My favorite nail polish this month was definitely India by Julep. She is a rich cerulean/royal blue(weird I know) with a nice shimmery shine to her. I absolutely love this polish and will definitely be ordering more in the near future.
Favorite Jewelry: 18th Birthday rings
Oh these beauties. My 18th birthday gifts from my grandmother and aunt were these two rings and honestly, these pictures do them no justice. The one on the left is a diamond ring and the one on the right is a ring with a turquoise birthstone in it. I usually wear them both at the same time and I just find them very beautiful. They will most likely become a staple in my wardrobe this year.
Favorite Food/Drink: Water
I know, I know. Why not a caramel frappuccino from Starbucks? Or a Jamaican Hurricane from Logan's? I made that last one up. Well, I'm trying to adopt healthier habits, like exercising daily, eating more fruits and vegetables, and drinking more water. Some people say to drink 8 glasses a day, while other suggest taking your weight, dividing it in half, and drinking that many ounces of water a day. I have chosen to begin by drinking 8 glasses a day, and eventually bump up my intake to at least a full gallon a day. Water is probably the best thing you can put in your body and it's cheap! Water helps to flush toxins out of your body, fill you up during meals, and make your skin softer. So drink up!
Favorite Makeup Item: Plush Pout by Julep in Cardinal Red
Julep again. This makeup item from Julep is a lipstick-type item that comes in a few different colors. It goes on easily and it lasts for hours. I usually wear this when I have performances and it even stays on(mostly) while I play my instrument. I have many red reeds now, but my lips remain perfectly red as if nothing happened. :-)
Favorite Fragrance: Velvet Sugar by Bath & Body Works
Expect to see A LOT from these guys on this list from now on. When B&BW released their new formula for their body cream, they sent out a coupon to get one body cream(valued at $12.50 a bottle) for free with any purchase. Yours truly went two days in a row and racked up. Then I went back the day after Christmas and snagged three more for $3 a bottle, so I'll be moisturized until the summer. I enjoyed the scent so much that I went back and bought the fragrance mist to go with it. I've actually been wearing it nearly every day since October and the bottle still isn't empty if that gives you an idea of how rich the formula is. I love basically all of their scents, but this is one that I've been hooked on for the past couple of months.
Favorite Show/Channel: Food Network and Cutthroat Kitchen
My final monthly favorite is Food Network and from this channel, my favorite show is Cutthroat Kitchen. Food Network has some amazing shows like Guy's Grocery Games, Chopped, and of course, Cutthroat Kitchen. Cutthroat Kitchen is a cooking competition where 4 chefs are each given $25,000 to buy sabotages for their opponents in a race to be named Cutthroat Kitchen champ; however, the winner can only leave with the money they have left after the auctions. It's very entertaining and I've learned quite a few things by watching it. It's also inspired me to learn how to make a few items too, such as pasta from scratch. You may even see it on Tuesday Tasties one day ;-)
That wraps up my monthly favorites for December and feel free to share some of your favorites from last month because I'd love to try some new things. I'll see you next month for my January favorites, but stay tuned for more from my blog, such as recipes, a weekly spotlight, manicures, and more. Also, make sure to share this post with your friends and become a subscriber. See you next time :-)
